"House On Fire"

Here is a famous image of an Anasazi Ruin that is a 1.2 mile hike into Mule Canyon Utah. I have wanted to take this image for a while. After leaving Canyonlands National Park for a early sunrise of Mesa Arch, this was a 2 hour drive south...

I arrived in late morning for the best reflected light. It bounces off the lower rocks in front of the ruins that cast the best light on the upper "roof" that creates the effect of fire.

It was a special moment walking up on this place.

I spent 2 hours resting, photographing and visiting with some other folks who made the same hike just ahead of me...
We all had great conversation and exchanged personal information.
